Regrecover
Description:
Regrecover exports data from corrupt NT based registry files. It is specially designed for strongly damaged registry files, and is an alternate to RegdatXP, another software by the same author. Regrecover uses a completely different approach than RegdatXP. It linearly reads all registry cells right after opening a file, and then tries to rebuild the structure. Typically, Regrecover should be applied to files for which RegdatXP just displays a single key not having any subkeys, or when RegdatXP even refuses to open a file saying it’s an invalid registry file. The former usually means that the information about where the subkeys of the root cell are located has been destroyed, thus making it necessary to scan the entire file for possible subkeys. For larger files the scan process can take several minutes, and at least 512 MB Ram are recommended.
The full version can export all recovered data into a Win9x/NT4 registration file, or into a new, non-corrupt registry hive, which in best case can be used as a replacement for the original corrupted file.
